Remarkably effective, the Maine native has established herself as one of the most influential voices in contemporary songwriting. At just 34, she now moves seamlessly between global hits, major awards and a solo career that has quickly been gaining momentum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Born in 1992 in Windham, a town in Greene County, New York State, her teenage musical debut was rooted in the local folk and bluegrass scene. Still unknown at the time, she joined her family band, Jerks of Grass, as a bassist, performing in pubs.
