Tate McRae, the trendy pop star who blew up on TikTok<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With 224 million views on YouTube and over a billion streams on Spotify, the track <\/span>Greedy<\/span><\/i><\/a> has propelled the singer into the ranks of new hopes for pop music. The youngest artist to enter the <\/span>Forbes 30 under 30<\/span><\/i>list in 2020 now boasts over 53 million listeners monthly on the platform, close to Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s 56 million listeners.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is Tate McRae<\/strong> about to join the exclusive circle of must-see pop icons? That\u2019s what her track <\/span>Exes<\/i>, released in November 2023, <\/span><\/strong>about her ex-boyfriends seems to suggest. The music video for this ultra-sensual song has now racked up over 58 million views on YouTube.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And everyone wants to sing along to the lyrics: \u201cKisses to my exes who don\u2019t give a shit about me \/ Kisses, kisses to the next ones who think they can live without me \/ We make up, then we break up, then they swear they\u2019ll never call me \/ But I still keep their number and their necklace, kisses to my exes.<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Think Later, Tate McRae\u2019s successful album<\/strong><\/em><\/h3><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tate McRae<\/strong> closed out 2023 with a record entitled <\/span>Think Later<\/i><\/strong>, released on December 8th. On a brief promotional day in Paris, the singer opened up to <\/span>Num\u00e9ro<\/span><\/i> about the making of this new record. \u201c<\/span>This album is inspired by the quote \u2018dance now, think later.\u2019 I feel like every single decision I made this year was made with my heart. That quote allowed me to start writing this new album. I thought it should be the title of my album<\/span><\/i>,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside its two flagship hits, <\/span>Greedy <\/span><\/i>and <\/span>Exes<\/span><\/i>, Tate McRae also composed twelve other highly pop tracks \u2014 with Ryan Tedder, producer of Taylor Swift and Beyonc\u00e9 \u2014 including the excellent <\/span>Run for the Hills<\/i><\/strong>, her favorite track on the album. \u201c<\/span>I really wanted this album to sound much more pop. It\u2019s made up of songs I could truly dance to on tour. I just wanted to challenge myself.<\/span><\/i>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Created in eleven months only, <\/span>Think Later<\/span><\/i> is an album that speaks candidly about many topics dear to Gen Z, including love, relationships and self-acceptance. \u201c<\/span>I feel like I\u2019m exploring a lot of different scenarios with this album. There are, of course, fun dance songs, others about being a young woman evolving in the music industry, and others that talk about personal situations I\u2019ve been through. It covers many aspects of my life<\/span><\/i>,\u201d she shared.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
