After releasing a string of global hits, she\u2019s taking the independent route and leaving Rec. 118 behind. It was under Warner Music France\u2019s umbrella that she had released her 2023 album <em data-start=\"1084\" data-end=\"1089\">DNK<\/em>.<\/p><br\/><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1512\"><\/p><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1512\">Since the meteoric rise of her 2018 hit <em data-start=\"1132\" data-end=\"1140\">Djadja<\/em> and across four studio albums, <strong>Aya Nakamura<\/strong> has consistently defied expectations. Dismissed by much of the mainstream media but idolized on social platforms, she became a generational icon, especially following her performance at the <strong>2024 Paris Olympic Games.<\/strong> With this new label, whose name she has yet to reveal, she\u2019s doubling down on her drive for creative independence.<\/p><br\/><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1514\" data-end=\"1825\"><\/p><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This move is no accident. It\u2019s part of a deliberate strategy: reclaim control over her artistry, scout new voices, and, most importantly, pass the mic. Hailing from Nemours, he was discovered on the <em data-start=\"2008\" data-end=\"2018\">DVM Show<\/em>, a talent-search program launched by Aya Nakamura herself. With a moody blend of autotuned rap and mainstream R\u2019n\u2019B, RNBOI quickly caught her attention.<em> \u201cHe\u2019s got something different,\u201d<\/em> she told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/fr.billboard.com\/2025\/04\/24\/aya-nakamura-fierte-francaise-icone-mondiale\/\">Billboard France<\/a><\/em>.<\/p><br\/><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2234\" data-end=\"2502\"><\/p><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2234\" data-end=\"2502\">With over 800,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, <strong>RNBOI<\/strong> is far from a blank slate. A collaborator of <strong>Tiakola, Monsieur Nov<\/strong>, and <strong>Kerchak<\/strong>, he embodies a <strong>new wave, <\/strong>one that Aya Nakamura is eager to champion through a lens of freedom, cultural fusion, and defiance of labels.<\/p><br\/><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2504\" data-end=\"2828\"><\/p><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"2504\" data-end=\"2828\">This could well mark the beginning of a new era in French music, one where the most streamed artists become champions of the underground, amplifying unheard voices. By stepping into the role of producer, <strong>Aya Nakamura<\/strong> shows she\u2019s no longer content being a success story. She\u2019s becoming a driving force.
