Through sharp punchlines, artists battle to defend their honor and symbolic turf. While some see these feuds as ego-driven theatrics, true connoisseurs understand they fuel the very essence of hip-hop: competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/music\/kendrick-lamar-named-chanels-new-brand-ambassador\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Kendrick Lamar<\/strong> <\/a>clashed with <strong>Drake<\/strong> through diss tracks like <em>Not Like Us<\/em>, often violent songs meant to discredit the opponent. And anything goes, even digging up confidential information. When rivalries spill beyond music and social media, they can turn into brawls or full-blown street fights, as shown by the violent scuffle between French rappers <strong>Booba<\/strong> and <strong>Kaaris<\/strong> in an Orly airport terminal in August 2018. In seven ferocious minutes, she attacked Minaj\u2019s credibility, accusing her of using ghostwriters, undergoing multiple plastic surgeries, and hiding her insecurities behind commercial success. Brutal and unfiltered, the track channeled the rawest spirit of lyrical battles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Nicki Minaj<\/strong> was slow to respond, a calculated move reflecting her strategic stance at the time. When she finally fired back with <em>No Frauds<\/em> (2017), alongside<strong> Drake<\/strong> and <strong>Lil Wayne<\/strong>, her approach was colder and more mocking than aggressive. This stance pleased her fans but left purists underwhelmed. More than an artist, Fret was a beacon for LGBTQ+ visibility in a scene riddled with machismo and heteronormativity. Outspoken and polarizing, he used his platform to criticize the urban music industry\u2019s hypocrisy, drawing ire from established artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Though no official diss tracks exist, there were clear tensions between Fret and several prominent figures in reggaeton and Latin trap. Some media even hinted at the indirect involvement of major stars\u2019 entourages, though no charges followed. <strong>Fret<\/strong> was gunned down in San Juan.
