Notable works from the Norwegian director include <em data-start=\"751\" data-end=\"760\">Reprise<\/em> (2006), <em data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"788\">Oslo, August 31st<\/em> (2011), and <em data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"809\">Thelma<\/em> (2017). His previous film, <em data-start=\"837\" data-end=\"868\">The Worst Person in the World<\/em> (2021), nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars, also garnered <strong>Renate Reinsve<\/strong> the award for Best Actress at <strong>Cannes<\/strong>.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, the filmmaker was back in the South of France with <strong><em data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"690\">Sentimental Value<\/em><\/strong>, which received the <strong>Grand Prix<\/strong> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/cannes-2025-jafar-panahis-it-was-just-an-accident-awarded-the-palme-dor-by-juliette-binoche\/\"><strong>Cannes Film Festival<\/strong><\/a>. An opportunity for him to reunite with <strong>Renate Reinsve<\/strong>, who plays Nora, an actress deeply committed to her career. The director took home the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film for Sentimental Value. While accepting his award, the Danish-Norwegian filmmaker said: \u201c<em>I&#8217;m just a nerd from Norway who loves cinema. This film is about a very dysfunctional family, and it&#8217;s the opposite of what I felt with this beautiful group behind me. I&#8217;ve never been so proud of the cast. (&#8230;) I want to end by paraphrasing the wonderful American writer <strong>James Baldwin<\/strong>, who makes us remember that all adults are responsible for all children, and let\u2019s not vote
