He played alongside <strong>Daniel Craig<\/strong> in the next installment of the adventures of Benoit Blanc. Titled <a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/movies\/knives-out-3-daniel-craig-and-josh-oconnor-together-in-a-spy-film\/\"><strong><em>Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Story<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, this crime comedy also starred <strong>Cailee Spaeny<\/strong> and <strong>Andrew Scott<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2026, the British actor will appear in several major projects. After working with <strong>Alice Rohrwacher<\/strong> in <em>La Chimera<\/em>, he will once again work with a renowned female director, this time <strong>Kelly Reichardt<\/strong> (<em>Certain Women<\/em>, <em>First Cow<\/em>). Seen in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/imperial-or-plaintive-what-is-season-6-of-the-crown-worth-2\/\"><em>The Crown<\/em><\/a><\/strong> (2016) and more recently in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/movies\/lee-miller-kate-winslets-next-big-role-could-win-her-an-oscar\/\"><em>Lee Miller<\/em><\/a><\/strong> (2024), <strong>Josh O\u2019Connor<\/strong> is in fact the lead in this crime drama produced by <strong>MUBI<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1427\">Titled <strong><em data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1229\">The Mastermind<\/em><\/strong>, the film follows a reckless, yet fascinating family dad and former artist, who plots to steal valuable artworks in the 1970s. Now a carpenter, he breaks into a museum with the help of two accomplices and takes several paintings. Surprisingly, it was not the only film in competition starring Josh O\u2019Connor on the Croisette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside <strong>Paul Mescal<\/strong> (<em>Gladiator 2<\/em>), the British actor will star in <strong>Oliver Hermanus<\/strong>&#8216;s upcoming film, <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/movies\/cannes-2025-paul-mescal-and-josh-oconnor-star-in-a-gay-romance\/\">The History of Sound<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, also screening at the French film festival and slated for release on February 25th, 2026.
