However, they don&#8217;t yet know the vices of Albrecht Muth, a charming and calculating socialite who, with his well-crafted lies, ended up with the Washington elite in his pocket. This enigmatic character is real: a German social climber who, with the help of his deceased wife&#8217;s fortune &#8211; for whose murder he was given a 50-year sentence &#8211; rose to the top of American diplomacy.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><b>&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><b>This unsettling character was tailor-made for Christoph Waltz,&nbsp;<\/b>whose slight Germanic accent and face as charming as it is disturbing becomes that of Ulrich Mott, the main character of&nbsp;<i>Georgetown<\/i>, directly inspired by the life of Albrecht Muth. The film&#8217;s screenplay, by David Auburn, takes its cue from a 2012&nbsp;<i>New York Times<\/i>&nbsp;article by Franklin Foer, with a detailed portrait of the malevolent genius of Albrecht Muth. In the lead role as the seductive German, Christoph Waltz is also the director of the film. For the first time in his career, the 64-year-old actor has stepped behind the camera, directing the likes of Vanessa Redgrave, Annette Bening and Corey
