Her last name may not ring a bell to those who don\u2019t follow her, but L\u00e9a Seydoux<\/strong> comes from a powerful clan in the seventh art. She is the granddaughter of producer J\u00e9r\u00f4me Seydoux<\/strong>, owner of the major European film production and distribution company Path\u00e9 (The Three Musketeers<\/strong> <\/em>diptych), whose fortune was estimated at 1.4 billion euros in 2023, and the great-niece of Nicolas Seydoux, chair of the Supervisory Board of the French studios Gaumont.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with Deadline<\/em>, the actress explained her status: \u201cI come from this family deeply rooted in the cultural industry, yet I was completely sidelined as a child. I was an outcast, with very bad grades at school, and I’d always felt a bit like an orphan, who doesn\u2019t fit into any box<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from British actress Eunice Gayson in the 1960s, few actresses have played the same role twice in a row in any James Bond film. L\u00e9a Seydoux<\/strong> will undoubtedly be one of the major figures of the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The French actress will be on the Croisette for two highly-anticipated features \u2014 Gentle Monster <\/strong><\/em>and The Unknown<\/strong><\/em>. Two projects with very different registers, further cementing her status as a central figure in contemporary cinema, able to move effortlessly between radically different aesthetics and narratives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
