So how does the incredible Louis Vuitton x Jeff Koons collaboration look?
Accustomed to astonishing collaborations, Louis Vuitton has been granted access to the immense creative genius of Jeff Koons who has summoned the grand masters including De Vinci, Rubens and Manet onto the house handbags.
Following Louis Vuitton’s sensational collaborations with the legacy of Stephen Sprouse and Takashi Murakami and then the opening of its foundation in 2014, the French fashion house is doing contemporary art once more with megastar Jeff Koons. Titian’s Venus with a Mirror, Ruben’s The Tiger Hunt and not forgetting Leonardo de Vinci’s Mona Lisa… are all now available on the iconic Vuitton handbags thanks to iconoclast Koons. The artist is echoing his series Gazing Ball Paintings (2015), an ensemble of reproductions of the great masters into which he added a mirrored ball. Remarkably for the first time in the history of the house, the Louis Vuitton Monogram is redesigned here and decorated with the artist’s initials. It was during a special dinner at the Louvre, which also hosted the house’s runway show, bringing together the artist and the house muses that Louis Vuitton unveiled this exceptional collection to the world.
The Louis Vuitton x Jeff Koons collection will be available from April 28th.
