R&B star turned chef Kelis returns to music with mouthwatering music video
The leading R’n’B singer of the 2000s had been rare in recent years, reconverting into a media chief. Now she’s back to music with a new music video, Midnight Snacks, whose sexy aesthetic is reminiscent of her 2003 hit, Milkshake.
In recent years, R’n’B diva Kelis has made her mark with her culinary adventures. When she became a chef, she published a book entitled Life on a Plate (2015) and launched a daring recipe show on Netflix, Cooked with Cannabis, last year. The one who has multiplied allusions to food in her songs (especially on her hit Milkshake which dates from 2003) had even released an album in 2014 called Food.
Seven years later, the singer is still surfing on the culinary theme with her new track with a mouthwatering video: Midnight Snacks. Produced by the duo The FaNaTix who have previously worked with Nicki Minaj and Popcaan, the suave and effective song plays on the links that exist between sex and cooking, two areas that for Kelis, are very similar. We hope that this musical snack will be an appetizer before the release of a seventh album signed by the former collaborator of Pharrell Williams and Cee-Lo Green.
