After presenting a documentary series on the eventful life of Paul McCartney, bassist of the Beatles, on August 25, Disney+ now turns to the British band in its entirety and unveils the first images of an intimate documentary, entitled The Beatles: Get Back. Directed by Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit), this new documentary series of three episodes of about two hours will reveal the intimacy of the mythical group like never before, thanks to a multitude of secret archive images, which the director has been able to discover, select, restore and edit. The four members of the Beatles, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, will be back together as they prepare for their first concert after a two-year break in 1968.

The documentary shows the band writing and rehearsing fourteen new songs, some of which have now become emblematic. Faced with deadlines that are almost impossible to meet, the director shows the artists subjected to harsh tests, and honors their incredible strength as a group and their unwavering passion for music. To illustrate this period, The Beatles: Get Back will present nearly 60 hours of never-before-seen footage filmed over twenty-one days by Michael Lindsay-Hogg and some one hundred and fifty hours of never-before-heard audio. Finally, the Beatles’ last performance as a group (before their dissolution in 1969) will also be shown in its entirety for the very first time.

The Beatles: Get Back (2021) by Peter Jackson, broadcast on November 25, 26 and 27 on Disney+.
