On Wednesday February 6th 2020 in New York, Nike presented its innovations and new products for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The American sportswear label took advantage of the occasion to unveil the new collaborations with 5 of its regular guest designers. Thus in the store this summer there’ll be pieces by Virgil Abloh of Off White, Yoon Ahn of Ambush, Chitose Abe of Sacai, Matthew M. Williams of Alyx as well as Jun Takahashi of Undercover. Brought together for their avant-garde style as well as their sensitivity to sporting values and their technical approaches to garments and accessories, these five designers are used to juggling creativity and performance.
For the time being, only the jackets are on display, but we can already see everyone’s personality: hybridization at Sacai and Undercover, understated street influences at Off-White and Alyx and glamor for Ambush. The complete collections will be launched this summer.
