Interview with soul shamans Ibeyi

They’re barely 20, but Ibeyi have already released two albums since their 2015 début. According to the Yoruba religion of their Cuban roots, twins Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz are the daughters of gods. Which perhaps explains why their heartfelt soul music seems literally to bewitch all those who hear it, including Beyoncé and Karl Lagerfeld, who honoured them at his Cuban runway show in 2017.
