Happy Birthday COS !

The Swedish ready-to-wear store is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a capsule collection entitled “10”. Made up of 10 pieces, it celebrates the understated aesthetic of Cos and reinterprets the traditional Japanese kimono.

In 2007 on Regent Street in London the first COS boutique opened its doors, now ten years later, the ready-to-wear store is celebrating its success with 10 original creations. This special event capsule collection is inspired by the Japanese kimono and is made up of shirts with patch pockets, minimalist tunics and long and ample lightweight jackets belted at the waist. The choice of colours is based on a sober palette of white to beige, the label’s own elegant signature shades. What makes this capsule collection so unique is the way it’s been made: in order to not waste a scrap of material each garment is made from pieces cut jigsaw puzzle like from the fabric, resulting in a most intelligent product.

This decade has also been marked by prestigious collaborations with big names in the world of art and design like Hay, Nina Band, the Book Society, Sou Fujimoto, Donald Judd and others. COS has also been supporting the Serpentine Gallery in London since 2013  joining them every year for events like the “Park nights” last June. And let’s not forget the the collection inspired by the work of 20th century American painter Agnes Martin.

The “10” collection will be available in shops and on cosstores.com from March 24th
