Acne Studios blurs the lines between genres

For his Acne Studios Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Jonny Johansson blurred the lines between masculine and feminine, day and evening wear, indoor and outdoor clothing.

On September 1st, 2025, the late in the afternoon, the Collège des Bernardins looked like a private cigar lounge with its warm cognac tapestry. Beneath its Gothic vaults, the Acne Studios Spring/Summer 2026 show unfolded to an exclusive soundtrack by Robyn and Yung Lean.

Since its creation in 1996, Acne Studios has held a singular place in the fashion landscape. Long celebrated for its reworked essentials and avant-garde collections, the Swedish brand has recently taken a sharp turn. Today, it belongs to that exclusive circle of edgy labels dear to Millennials and Gen Z.

This season, the collection delivers a radical interpretation of the women’s wardrobe, blurring the lines between masculine and feminine, day and evening wear, indoor and outdoor clothing. Just like an augmented version of reality. As Jonny Johansson, the label’s founder, explains in the show notes: “I’ve always felt that creativity consists in seeing the world in ways we didn’t know existed.”
