Lady Dior reinvented by the biggest names in art

From John Giorno to Jack Pierson, major contemporary artists have reinvented the house of Dior’s legendary handbag.

Last year, Dior launched Dior Lady Art, a collection combining fashion and contemporary art where Marc Quinn, Ian Davenport and Jason Martin were invited to reinvent the celebrated bag made famous by Lady Diana.

For its second year, Dior has called upon 10 new artists from around the world to push the limits of their art with the Lady Dior bag as their blank canvas. Thus we see the rainbow poetry of John Giorno, the broken mirror-effect Plexiglas of Lee Bul, the customised world maps ofHong Hao, the techniques inspired by the nbdele culture (people of Zimbabwe the north-east of South Africa) of Namsa Leuba, the dreamy watercolours of Friedrich Kunath, the haute couture meets Kenyan craftsmanship techniques of Jamilla Okubo, the graffiti style paintings of Betty Mariani, the unfinished works of Spencer Sweeney, the enchanting whirlwinds of Jack Pierson and finally the floral ceramic effect motifs of David Wiseman.

Available in Dior boutiques from the end of November.
