Lala & star of a musical at the Bourse de Commerce
On October 18, 10 and 20, the 26-year-old rapper from Lyon Lala &ce, star of a new genre of female rap, slow and esoteric, invites itself to the Bourse de Commerce – Collection Pinault for a most spectacular event: a musical choreographed by the Argentinian Cécilia Bengolea, an international figure in contemporary dance and performance art.
On October 18, 10 and 20, Paris will be the scene of a meeting between worlds that are completely opposed, in the den of contemporary art opened only a few months ago near the Les Halles district, the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection. The 26-year-old rapper from Lyon Lala &ce, star of a new genre of female rap, slow and esoteric, invites itself to the museum bringing together the most renowned international artists – Urs Fischer, David Hammons, Louise Lawler and Miriam Cahn – for a most spectacular event: a musical choreographed by Argentina’s Cecilia Bengolea, an international figure in contemporary dance and performance art.
Born from the collaboration between electronic music composer Low Jack and Lala 1&ce, who met at a concert in 2019, the musical Baiser Mortel is born this month and takes the form of a summit meeting. Alongside the singer and former member of the Lyon-based music collective 667, who plays a main character on a spiritual and romantic quest, we find her loved ones, on stage or in life, including the rapper Rad Cartier, the singer Le Diouck, but also dancers including Craig Black Eagle, Katrin Wow and Elodie Chan. The latter embody a piece conceived by Cécilia Bengolea, a choreographer with breathtaking pieces that have toured all over the world. And, icing on the cake, the costumes for Deadly Kiss were entirely designed by Marine Serre, a young fashion prodigy and fervent defender of upcycling. Mixing ballet, urban folklore and sound-art and inspired by musical, theatrical dance and soap opera formats, the play performed in the heart of the atrium of the Bourse de Commerce is based on the film Death Takes a Holiday (1934) by Mitchell Leisen, in which Death decides to spend three days with the living. And while Broadway shows in New York resumed a few days ago, this is a good opportunity for Parisians to celebrate the resumption of cultural life.
