Micro mini, menswear, 2000s vibe: 3 elements from Miu Miu fall-winter 2022-2023 show
Miu Miu closed the fall-winter 2022-2023 Fashion Week with a Y2K-inspired show at the Palais d’Iéna. For the event, artists Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg decorated the Parisian palace with ornaments of phantasmagorical creatures on deck chairs.
The miniskirt from Miu Miu Spring-Summer 2022 collection is hard to miss lately. Featured on every magazine cover (I-D, Vogue, Elle Korea, Vanity Fair), this piece asserts once and for all the big comeback of both the low-rise and influences from the 2000s in a new Winter 2022-2023 version.
After a clever revision of the male uniform, Miuccia Prada now targets the tennis woman’s outfit. In a similar fashion, polos, shorts, and pleated skirts are shortened by a few centimeters to unveils navels and legs. New life is given to the mini-short. Reminding Kate Moss’ style in Glastonbury back in 2005, it comes with a double belt and either large thick leather boots or a bold association of wool socks and ballet pumps. Going even farther with the 2000s vibe, the collection gives room to transparent outfits, fur collar bombers and apparent underwear. At last, this show celebrates the return of menswear for Miu Miu, thanks to appealing androgynous silhouettes.
