Jonathan Anderson magnifies fabrics for the Loewe fall-winter 2022-2023 show
For the past seasons as Loewe’s artistic director since 2013, Jonathan Anderson has stood out with his playful and refined collections, experimenting with trompe l’oeil effects on sublime pieces crafted by the fashion house’s professionals. For his fall-winter 2022-2023 runway collection, the British designer launches his show with a series of dresses cast in leather that seem to be in motion. A mesmerizing act made by craftsman Robert Mercier, who is used to collaborating with houses such as Balmain and Schiaparelli. Then, the show continues with some felt molded bustier tops, gorgeous drape dresses with either lip-shaped dickeys or balloon bras. While the general cuts of the clothes are surprisingly minimalistic, the textures used uncover the treasures of creativity and genius of this collection.
