7 Valentine’s Day gifts to rekindle the flame

Romantic dinner, trompe-l’œil sex toy, hot lingerie, a cinema date… Numéro shares the must-have gofts for a flawless Valentine’s Day evening.

  • By Louise Menard.

  • Chocolate treats to share

For decades, chocolate has been credited with all kinds of aphrodisiac virtues. Urban legend or proven fact? It hardly matters, as cocoa delights have never ceased to arouse the senses… The perfect last-minute gift (or treat yourself to), chocolates can once again be found at some of the capital’s finest chocolatiers. Sweet little hearts fill the shop windows of Les Chocolats de Yannick Alléno, as well as those of Nina Métayer’s atelier, combining vanilla creaminess, crushed Iranian pistachios and intense praline, or a dark chocolate shell accented with notes of buckwheat.

A classic, consensual and perfectly executed approach, alongside which Jade Genin reveals slightly more rebellious creations. In addition to confections emblazoned with the injunction Taste me, the chocolatier revisits the paper fortune-tellers of our childhood, concealing beneath their folds an intimate, evocative question to be taken on as a challenge. But no need to panic: for the less playful, Pierre Hermé’s praline bars remain a safe bet, free of any unnecessary frills. To be enjoyed, of course, without moderation…

Creations by Les Chocolats de Yannick Alléno, Jade Genin, Nina Métayer and Pierre Hermé are available in stores.

    Lumilips for kissable lips

What better way to kick off your Valentine’s Day evening than with a sultry kiss? Known for its LED masks that cover the entire face, the brand Silk’n pulls off a masterstroke with Lumilips, a mini mask that, as its name suggests, is delicately placed over the lips. The goal? To boost dormant collagen, enhance your natural lip tone and plump the area.

So kiss your plastic surgeons and injections goodbye. This little technological gem, easy to slip into any suitcase or handbag, requires nothing more than a daily session of just a few minutes. A tip: start the ritual now to be flawless on the big day. And finish off the look with a fiery lipstick.

Silk’n’s Lumilips is available at silkn.fr.

    Cinema to take your heart

It hardly needs saying that this year’s Valentine’s Day film is the adaptation of Emily Brontë’s novel Wuthering Heights, whose teaser has been taking social media by storm. But for those who don’t feel like watching Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi play star-crossed lovers, and for the nostalgic among us, the Grand Rex has gone all out. On February 14th, from 3pm to 9pm, the cinema is hosting a movie marathon featuring a succession of cult classics, including Romeo + Juliet (1996) and the tragic Brokeback Mountain (2005) and every true romantic’s ultimate Proust’s madeleine, Pretty Woman (1990).

For those who would rather choose their sofa over darkened theatres packed with lovey-dovey couples, the streaming platform Mubi offers a chance to (re)discover more recent films, such as Carol (2015) with the sublime Cate Blanchett, the buoyant The Worst Person in the World (2021) directed by Joachim Trier, and The Nature of Love (2023) by one of our favourite filmmaker, Monia Chokri.

Wuthering Heights by Emerald Fennell, in cinemas on February 11th, 2026. More information on the official websites legrandrex.com and mubi.com.

A fruity sex toy for a Valentine’s Day spent alone or with company

Reliving the peach scene from Call Me by Your Name (2017), in which Elio (Timothée Chalamet) discovers the first stirrings of solo pleasure, why not? It is now possible this Valentine’s Day, thanks to Womanizer’s brand-new creation. Shaped like a very juicy peach, the Peach toy is a formidable clitoral stimulator. It has no less than 14 intensity levels, a 100% waterproof design, and is made for the most sensitive skin. Add a strawberry (edible) massage oil and the deal is sealed. To enjoy on your own, with your partner, or more adventurous company.

The Womanizer Peach toy is available at espaceplaisir.fr.

Refined dinner or pizza on the go?

For rebels who swear they won’t be celebrating Valentine’s Day, but who might regret it at the last minute, the solution is ready-made and it’s called Faggio. This pizzeria in the 9th arrondissement of Paris suits both young couples keen to share a Venice-style, intimate dinner, and those on the brink of divorce, for whom the house’s signature half-and-half pizza may prove essential.

Another option, with an entirely different atmosphere, is the restaurant at Hôtel L’Aventure, which opened a year ago in the French capital. In a setting that feels like an enchanted interlude, upholstered in rich brocades, you’ll find the perfect candlelit dinner with langoustine carpaccio and chocolate soufflé. A place full of promise, where you’ll also be able to enjoy sophisticated, discreet rooms from March 3rd onwards. These cocoons will appeal to last-minute lovers…

Faggio Pizzeria, 72 rue Marguerite de Rochechouart, Paris 9th. L’Aventure, 4 avenue Victor Hugo, Paris 16th.

Wearing the Kamasutra around your neck

After the cock ring by Homer, the jewellery brand launched by singer Frank Ocean in 2021, other pieces are now set to make you blush. The jewellery house Dinh Van is reissuing an astonishing creation imagined by Jean Dinh Van himself back in 1972. Gold or silver medallions, to be worn with a chain or on a bracelet cord.

At first glance, nothing seems extraordinary. But when you look at them more closely, these delicate pieces reveal finely engraved explicit positions. A playful reinterpretation of Kama Sutra, the famous erotic treatise written in India between the 4th and 5th centuries. With this collection, Dinh Van ventures off the beaten track, offering lovers an elegant way to send a decidedly explicit message.

The Kamasutra collection by Dinh Van is available in stores and at dinhvan.com.

    Daring to wear dream lingerie

How could anyone resist the temptation of delicate pieces worn by the person who makes your heart race? Like an invitation to carnal pleasures, lingerie remains as always one of our favourite Valentine’s Day gifts. Somewhere between sensuality, glamour, passion and desire.

On the agenda this year, a sublime capsule by Etam, a collection aptly named “In Love Again” by Intimissimi, and ultra-girly lingerie by Savage x Fenty. Satin bows, ruffled thongs, trails of tiny hearts finely embroidered on pink and black lace, flattering garter belts, floral bodysuits… Brands make it loud and clear. Whether you’re a seasoned seducer or a complete novice, lingerie is an absolute essential.

The Valentine’s Day collection by Etam is available in stores and at etam.com. Intimissimi lingerie is available in stores and at intimissimi.com. And Savage x Fenty pieces are available at savagex.co.
