Why we’re loving bermuda shorts this spring
As we wait for summer heat—and with it, the arrival of micro shorts—denim bermudas, also known as dad shorts, are stepping into the spotlight. This oversized, ultra-trendy piece pairs with everything and is quickly becoming a spring essential.

Why Go for bermuda shorts this season?
Denim, that iconic and timeless material, is being reimagined this spring in cool, covetable variations. And beyond the mini skirts and micro shorts, Bermudas—affectionately dubbed “dad shorts” —are already asserting themselves as the must-have item of the moment.
Cut just above or below the knee, these often oversized shorts deliver comfort and freedom of movement. Worn by it-girl Charli XCX, they’re easy to imagine styled with loafers on Loli Bahia for a relaxed preppy look, or paired with boots by Bella Hadid for a full-on cowgirl vibe.
Whether faded, fitted, printed, raw, distressed or high-waisted, one thing’s for sure: bermuda shorts are poised to become our best fashion ally.

While brands like Nili Lotan and Diesel keep things simple with raw denim pieces, others such as denim giant Levi’s, Agolde, and Maison Margiela opt for a more rock-inspired, less conventional look with faded washes.
Designer Isabel Marant brings her own spin to the dad short, crafting it from sandy-hued cotton and turning it into a short cargo version with plenty of pockets. Meanwhile, labels like Citizens of Humanity and Racer favor darker tones, in contrast to Frame’s take: a voluminous short in pristine white denim.
