The Cos Fall/Winter 2025-2026 show in Brooklyn
In the immaculate setting of Greenpoint Terminal in Brooklyn, the Cos Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collection, presented on Sunday, September 14th in New York, offers a sophisticated interpretation of the contemporary wardrobe. True to its minimalist aesthetic, the London-based brand founded in 2007 continues to shape its language. Through some fifty looks available to buy now, one can notice stripped down lines that reveal the essential, a gentle rigour that blends the grace of elegance with the strength of functionality.
More than just a show, this event also allows the brand to assert its fashion identity. For the fourth consecutive year in New York, Cos follows in the footsteps of labels like Calvin Klein or Donna Karan, which made the city the capital of minimalism in the early 1990s.
Three years after conquering Manhattan and its urban landscapes, Cos now seems to be shifting toward a more sober and sophisticated aesthetic. A timely strategy, as New York seeks to reaffirm its legitimacy after several lackluster seasons.
“I think COS’s language really resonates with New York and with our connection to art and music. It is a wonderful place for creativity,” Karin Gustafsson, the brand’s design director, emphasizes . By reaffirming the founding principles of the label, while injecting new codes, Cos reinforces its status. That of a brand that has turned minimalism into a contemporary luxury.

A minimalist New Look for women
Cos revamps the founding codes of elegance for the women collections. Waists are cinched and necklines reveal the collarbones. A clear nod to the New Look silhouette launched by Christian Dior in 1947. As a staple of the 1950s, this New Look is here reinterpreted with a distinctly modern twist.
Later on, the brand’s signature minimalism gives way to more a sensual boldness. A sheer skirt or a silk dress with sculptural draping – pieces that play on contrasts of fabrics and volumes, confirming this desire to merge discipline with fluidity within a coherent (and ultra-desirable) wardrobe.

A collection featuring fluid skirts and plaid patterns
The color palette, dominated by dark tones – deep black, steel gray, intense navy blue – is punctuated with a few plaid motifs. A very welcome grunge touch within this collection titled Dark Romance, which engages with other stylistic effects. We can think of the treatment of collars – shawl, knotted, or high – that sculpt the silhouette with elegance.
In the same spirit, the accessories – sleek handbags, sock boots – extend the minimalist language while grounding the Cos wardrobe in a thoroughly contemporary modernity.

Functional menswear fashion and tailoring
At Cos, the men’s wardrobe allows more contrasts. Tailoring is shaken up by strong shoulders, oversized volumes, and tonal layering that plays with the codes of a monochrome wardrobe, yet remains rich in textures. Leather appears alongside silk and even faux fur.
A wool jumpsuit adds a workwear touch to the collection, while a leather jacket injects a slightly rebellious spirit into the show. As for footwear, the presence of leather boots and sneakers helps anchor the silhouettes in a sense of timelessness.
Lauryn Hill, Naomi Watts, Sampha… a star-studded front row
If the Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collection was memorable, the guest list also reflected the brand’s growing aura. Among those who came to applaud the show were the legendary singer Lauryn Hill, actresses Naomi Watts and Jodie Turner-Smith, as well as musician Sampha, all spotted in the front row. Janet Montgomery and actor Sam Rechner were also present, along with rising Indian actor Ahan Shetty…
With such a concentration of figures from New York’s creative ecosystem, the Cos show established itself as one of the must-see events of this Fashion Week. Once private and limited to minimalism devotees, the brand has now become a true cultural and stylistic reference nearly twenty years after its launch in London.
