How did the paparazzi inspire Dolce & Gabbana’s fashion show?

As the Italian fashion house inaugurated a retrospective exhibition at the Grand Palais recently, Dolce & Gabbana also presented a Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collection centred on the figures of paparazzi at the Milan Men’s Fashion Week last weekend.

A Dolce & Gabbana show inspired by the paparazzi

In the wake of the 107th edition of Pitti Uomo, the Milan Fashion Week kicked off with the Fall/Winter 2025-2026 menswear collections. One of the highlights of the weekend was the Dolce & Gabbana show on January 18, 2025, which drew a lot of attention with its unexpected staging.

As soon as the show started, a curtain rose on a pack of photographers, embodied by models, flashbulbs crackling, immortalising each one of the 69 silhouettes in this collection soberly named ‘Paparazzi’. With this new show, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have shaped a versatile masculine wardrobe, marked by the introduction of fur-lined denim jackets, turtleneck jumpers and long, leopard-print coats.

Later, the models at the Dolce & Gabbana show dressed in their best festive outfits and made the full meaning of the presence of dozens of paparazzi nestling on either side of the catwalk clear. About a year ago, Bottega Veneta also directed a campaign shot by paparazzi. Could this be the seal of approval for these unpopular photographers?

A glamorous collection designed for red carpets

In an atmosphere worthy of the greatest Hollywood red carpets, the collection unfolded itself through tweed suits paired with elegant berets for a dandy style and pinstriped suits coupled with large, faux fur coats.

Then, a series of dinner jackets burst onto the catwalk as Ballerina Night by Nino Rota was playing, thus giving a solemn tone to the show. Bold, the man by Dolce & Gabbana gradually stripped off his shoulders and sported his satin shirt open on his torso, proud of his heightened sensuality. Despite the bone-wrenching cold temperature last weekend in Italy, the men’s runway shows will for sure raise the temperature…
