The AMI show brings Place des Victoires to life under a threatening sky

To close the third day of the Paris Fashion Week, Ami delivered a suspended moment in time at Place des Victoires. In this spectacular setting, Alexandre Mattiussi presented a Spring/Summer 2026 collection true to his signature style – chic, simple, elegant.

Place des Victoires: the setting for the Ami show

To end the third day of the Paris Fashion Week, Alexandre Mattiussi went big. To unveil the AMI Spring/Summer 2026 collection, the designer privatized Place des Victoires, right in front of Ami’s headquarters, and set up a circular runway beneath the equestrian statue of Louis XIV.

A spectacular backdrop for what is meant to be an everyday, casual, yet refined wardrobe. Around the square, guests settled in, cigarettes in hand, chatting about the weather and latest trends. The atmosphere was heavy, the sky ominous. You could feel the looming storm.

And as it is often the case with Ami, everything worked like a charm. The collection unfolded in a fresh palette of matcha green, ink blue, and off-white, oscillating between oversized silhouettes and more fitted pieces. While volumes were clearly embraced – wide-leg trousers, pointed collars, A-line skirts with a 1970s flair – the whole exuded a breezy summer feel, with layered looks, airy organza fabrics, and half-tucked striped shirts.

Accessories of the Spring/Summer 2026 collection

Among the highlights of this Spring/Summer 2026 collection was the grained leather bag design Carrousel Homme. Shaped like a schoolbag with a wide flap, its structured, urban design revamps the house’s signature bag in a masculine version.

An even more unexpected detail? The pointed-toe flip-flops that embody a bold summer spirit, contrasting with a collection that remains quite conventional. With a discreet elegance favoring timelessness over surprise, the collection offers all the key markers of the Ami wardrobe with accuracy. A wardrobe filled with subtle colors, meticulous details, and fluid silhouettes.

The first lightning bolt struck after the final bow, when the friends of the house Catherine Deneuve, Mélanie Thierry and Eddy de Pretto made their way back to their cars under the first drops of rain. The show was marked by the Parisian grace dear to Alexandre Mattiussi.
