Paloma Picasso inspires Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2022

Yves Saint Laurent’s unconditional muse who inspired the famous scandal collection in 1971 – which referred to World War II fashion – Paloma Picasso is at the center of the Saint Laurent spring-summer 2022 show. Anthony Vaccarello celebrates independence and liberating creative energy through ultra-long silhouettes imbued with paradoxes: austere lines or graphic and sensual cuts, baroque freedom against classical austerity, sober colors against bold hues. The whole constitutes a whole of great elegance coupled with subversion and sensuality. “For a long time, I wanted to transpose this meeting between Paloma Picasso and Yves Saint Laurent, whose importance in the couturier’s creative journey few can appreciate. A moment that I am sensitive to as a designer, because for me it is the decisive moment when Saint Laurent no longer makes fashion but creates a style,” confides Anthony Vaccarello
