Maria Grazia Chiuri celebrates embroidery in her Dior spring-summer 2022 haute couture collection
Paying tribute to the craftsmanship and know-how of the house, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, Maria Grazia Chiuri has created an haute couture collection in which embroidery takes centre stage. Contrasting with tailored pieces in plain wools, she has designed tights adorned with three-dimensional details, bodysuits enhanced with crystal and jet tubes, a long crepe skirt embellished with loops of grey satin tubes, a small embroidered mesh waistcoat trimmed with faceted pearls, or a top embroidered with silver tulle ribbons, crystal pendants and vintage jewellery. A very pure collection that showcases an array of techniques and in which the garments become blank canvases for many experiments.
