Maitrepierre invites the singer Prudence for its spring-summer 2022 show

Create a collection based on an algorithm? Alphonse Maitrepierre took up the challenge. For his new collection of his label Maitrepierre, launched three years ago, the designer was inspired by the first robot artist Ai-Da, whose paintings and sculptures created by artificial intelligence have already been the subject of several exhibitions. With the help of a special program, the young Frenchman imitated the artist’s approach by generating random prints, often colorful,  which dress dresses, tight jumpsuits and pants with their abstract patterns and textile evocations. A great fan of drapery, Maitrepierre is developing this season volumes on the upper body, sometimes symmetrical, sometimes asymmetrical, while its cuts exaggerate the shoulders, reveal the belly or reinterpret the historic silhouette of the Bar de Dior suit, for ensembles often accompanied of the Manette bag, whose curved boomerang shape has now become characteristic of the label. Former half of the group The Dø, now renamed Prudence, the singer Olivia Merilahti sang her latest song as she crossed the halls of the Duperré school, closing a delicate parade with song.
