Kim Jones’ first Ready-to-Wear collection for Fendi

For the Fendi Fall-Winter 2021-2022 collection – his first for the Italian house – Kim Jones dips into the wardrobe of the five Fendi sisters, daughters of the founders, resulting in silhouettes that celebrate pure Italian elegance.

For his first collection for Fendi, Kim Jones – also artistic director at Dior Homme – revisits the heritage of the Italian house, drawing inspiration from the wardrobes of the five Fendi sisters, daughters of the founders Adèle and Eduardo Fendi, who joined the family business after the Second World War in 1925. Italian-style elegance is celebrated by the English designer with a collection of timeless, almost monochrome silhouettes. “The Fendi family is composed of hard-working intellectual women – and that’s what I wanted to celebrate,” says Kim Jones.

Belted fur coats, mid-length dresses with draping, loose fitting shorts and tailored trousers, soft knits, refined cashmeres and silky pieces compose this practical yet highly sophisticated collection for every day wearing. In beige, camel, carbon cream, powder and grey, the extremely sober colour palette sublimates Kim Jones’ precise cuts, while the Karligraphy monogram imagined by Karl Lagerfeld features on a silk shirt and slip dress, tights, the lining of a coat as well as a black sheepskin jacket and knee-high boots.
