Coperni’s spectacular performance with Bella Hadid

For its Spring-Summer 2023 runway show, the label Coperni offered a spectacular 15-minute long performance with model Bella Hadid.

Last Friday, September 30th, Coperni presented its Spring-Summer 2023 collection in the textile room of the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris. Once again, the Parisian label founded in 2013 took the world by storm. This season, the wardrobe dives into the nineties with asymmetrical designs that intersect sober and elegant tailoring pieces with long slip dresses and light asymmetrical skirts.

Known for its innovative spirit, the Parisian label delivered a memorable performance featuring top model Bella Hadid. The show’s finale was indeed a true performance. Bella Hadid emerged on the catwalk wearing nothing more than a thong and covering her chest with her hand. When she reached the middle of the catwalk, a team of specialists, led by the inventor of the spray-on fabric Dr Manel Torres, were waiting for her. Reminiscing Alexander McQueen’s Spring-Summer 1999 show, where model Shalom Harlow was sprayed with black and yellow paint on her immaculate chiffon dress, and imitating the abstract painter Jackson Pollock’s drippings, Coperni achieved a poetic and innovative feat of his own. He created a minimal dress from scratch in less than ten minutes in front of a stunned audience. Sprayed with a white liquid made out of cotton fibres and synthetic materials, forms one single piece. The American model finally walked on the runway with this famous virginal dress that has now gone down in the history of fashion.
