Basketball superstar Kevin Durant inspires captivating series

On Apple TV+,  Swagger traces the meteoric trajectory of global basketball star Kevin Durant. Inspired by the youth of the player with an incredible track record, the series has ten episodes,  available from October 29.

Several times Olympic champion,  named best player in the NBA in 2013, basketball player Kevin Durant is indeed an international star. Inspired by his youth, Swagger tells the story of a young man trying to become an exceptional sportsman. At 14, when the boy was a young rising star, his mother pushed him and he joined the team led by Ike, a former basketball star turned coach. Between dream and ambition, opportunism and corruption, this biopic-like series is as captivating as it is touching.

With a fast-paced soundtrack and a teenage cast ,  the series could well replace the Friday night game. Produced by the American Reggae Rock Bythewood, it was written in collaboration with Kevin Durant himself. The 24-year-old basketball player Isaiah Hill  plays the role of Jace Carson – Kevin’s alter ego. O’Shea Jackson (Den of Thieves, 2018), the son of rapper Ice Cube,  plays Jace’s coach. As for the young actress Quvenzhané Wallis, nominated at the age of 9 for the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012), she plays Crystal, one of the best basketball players in high school and a close friend of the hero.
