But American actor Tom Cruise has officially joined the cast of the next film by Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu. Joining Cruise are Jesse Plemons (Kinds of Kindness), who won Best Actor at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, German actress Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall), Emma D’Arcy (House of the Dragon), John Goodman (The Big Lebowski), and Riz Ahmed (The Phoenician Scheme). Filming, which began in November 2024 in the UK, was briefly paused in March 2025 due to a minor injury sustained by John Goodman.
