Anyone who was at the Stade de France in Paris on July 24, 2022, will remember. Lady Gaga delivered a spectacular performance as part of her Chromatica Ball tour. For those who missed it, there’s now a chance to catch up.

The singer unveiled a documentary titled Gaga Chromatica Ball on the Max platform in May 2024. To promote the film, Gaga attended the premiere in Los Angeles wearing a striking gown by Selva. Made from a hefty piece of bodywork, the look seemed lifted straight from the Mad Max saga.

The Chromatica Ball tour’s best looks

That bold outfit recalled the flamboyant costumes Gaga wore on her 2022 tour. With a name like Chromatica Ball, expectations for spectacle were sky-high, and Gaga delivered. Kicking off on July 18, 2022, in Düsseldorf, Germany, the tour was a showcase of edgy fashion and theatrical flair. For her dramatic entrance on Bad Romance, she wore a futuristic, conceptual ensemble from Gareth Pugh’s Spring/Summer 2007 collection, paired with towering Pleaser platform boots.

Song after song, from Just Dance to Poker Face, the singer and actress stunned with each appearance, a glorious return to her early fashion madness. Gone was the toned-down rock star of A Star Is Born (2018). Styled by Nicola Formichetti, Tom Eerebout, and Sandra Amador, Gaga’s looks for Chromatica Ball flirted with excess: gothic flair, rock accents, disco gold, and sci-fi nods, all drenched in latex and leather.

To bring her 2020 album Chromatica, a narrative of healing trauma, to life, Gaga transformed onstage into a badass biker or a power-dressing alien. Iconic pieces included a custom gold moiré suit by Alexander McQueen, a nude bodysuit from Vex Latex, and an architectural red dress by Topo Studio.

A fashion icon known for her bold style

In nearly two decades, Lady Gaga has etched her name into fashion history. From towering heels to surrealist creations, she’s cultivated a wardrobe as eccentric as her artistry, always backed by the industry’s elite.

A Versace muse and friend to the late Alexander McQueen (whom she honored at the 2010 Brit Awards in a towering white crest gown), Gaga has worn designs that toe the line between haute couture and science fiction.

Who could forget her infamous meat dress at the 2010 MTV VMAs? Designed by Franc Fernandez and made of over 50 pounds of Argentine beef, the dress, intended as a protest for animal rights—has its own Wikipedia page. Once on display at Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it now resides in the Haus of Gaga Museum in Las Vegas.

    A new album titled Mayhem

A trailblazer of avant-garde fashion blending bold aesthetics with technological innovation, Lady Gaga has, in recent years, toned down her wardrobe.

Now a Hollywood star thanks to roles in A Star Is Born (2018), House of Gucci (2021), and the less acclaimed Joker: Folie à Deux (2024), her recent fashion choices have leaned more classic, an homage to the glamour of 1920s and 1930s Hollywood.

    Two concerts at Coachella

The album’s name, synonymous with chaos, heralded the return of her signature flamboyance, confirmed by her jaw-dropping appearances at Coachella in April 2025.

Clad in metallic armor, corsetry, or a dramatic scarlet gown reminiscent of Lady Macbeth, Gaga multiplied jaw-dropping fashion moments. So here’s a round-up of her most striking style statements to date.
