by Violaine Schütz.
After a month of March highlighted by new albums from Jennie, Selena Gomez, Tamino, and Lady Gaga, as well as exclusive singles from Miki, Doja Cat, Chappell Roan, Kali Uchis, and Doechii, what does April 2025 have in store for us?
Miley Cyrus, PinkPantheress, and Wet Leg lead the April 2025 Playlist
On April 1st, the electrifying and eccentric duo Wet Leg kicks off the month with their hypnotic track Catch These Fists. The next day, another all-female rock group, The Beaches, gets us moving with Last Girls At The Party. On Thursday, April 3rd, Miley Cyrus releases End of the World, an epic, rock-infused single that offers a first glimpse of her upcoming album, Something Beautiful, slated for May 2025.
That same day brings more good surprises: jazz singer Laufey unveils the beautiful Silver Lining, and the cult rock band Wu Lyf makes a comeback after a 14-year hiatus with a brand-new track.
On Friday, April 4th, we discover The Crux, the new album by Djo—the musical project of actor Joe Keery (Stranger Things, Fargo)—as well as fresh releases from PinkPantheress, Tommy Genesis, Obongjayar, Black Country, New Road, Aime Simone (with a new album titled Rev), DJ Koze, and Elton John (with a collaborative LP alongside Brandi Carlile).
A New Bon Iver Album, a Jennie Remix, and a Lana Del Rey single
One week later, folk icon Bon Iver drops his new album, Sable, Fable. Jennie’s track gets a remix treatment from Peggy Gou, and experimental musician Kali Malone presents a new version of her project, The Sacrificial Code. We also hear from Rema, Air (with remixes by Vegyn), Pulp, Peter Doherty, Porches, King Krule, Cola Boyy, Thom Yorke, Marina, Cobrah, Yeule, Damso, Nathy Peluso (in a duet with Pabllo Vittar), and Vendredi sur Mer. But it’s Lana Del Rey who truly dazzles us with her new single, Henry, Come on, while a compilation reminds us just how talented the French rock band Poni Hoax was.
An EP from Lous and the Yakuza and new songs from Addison Rae and Angèle
On April 18th, indie music fans will be thrilled with new releases from Beirut, Julien Baker & Torres, and Tunde Adebimpe (musician and actor known from TV on the Radio). But the highlights of the day are undoubtedly Lana Del Rey’s new single Blue Bird and Lous and the Yakuza’s EP No Big Deal.
Other pleasant surprises include Addison Rae’s track Headphones On, and songs from Angèle, Caroline Polachek (with her band Caroline), and Judeline.
New releases from Lorde, Haim, and Kali Uchis
On Friday, April 25th, 2025, bands Deerhoof and Sunflower Bean will make headlines with new material, as will Vendredi sur Mer with her brand-new album Malabar Princess. The month’s standout releases, however, come from Lorde, Haim, and Kali Uchis, along with new offerings from Young Thug and Future, Megan Thee Stallion, Yaya Bey, and PinkPantheress.
