The Cure, Nick Cave, Tyler, The Creator… Rock en Seine goes big in 2026
The French music festival Rock en Seine is making a bold move for its 2026 edition. After welcoming a stellar line-up last summer, featuring Justice, Suki Waterhouse, Chappell Roan and Jorja Smith, the organizers have already announced the first headliners for next year. On Sunday 30th of August 2026, The Cure will close out the 22nd edition of the festival, held at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, in West Paris. The band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and rapper Tyler, The Creator will also be there.
The Cure, one of the greatest rock bands
Formed in 1978 in England, The Cure has established itself as one of the most iconic band of the post-punk/new wave/rock scenes. Led from the start by Robert Smith, now 66, the British band left an indelible mark on the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s with their unmistakable signature dark aesthetic and a string of cult albums. Their discography includes Three Imaginary Boys, Seventeen Seconds, Pornography and Disintegration.
Their last appearance at Rock en Seine dates back to 2019, in what is still considered one of the most memorable performances in the festival’s history. Since then, the band has only played once in France at the Accor Arena in November 2022.
The long-awaited return of The Cure to Rock en Seine
After sixteen years spent under the radar, The Cure made a triumphant comeback with Songs of a Lost World in 2024. Unveiled during an intimate show in London, the album was met with critical acclaim. It is hard to imagine a more fitting finale for the 2026 edition of Rock en Seine than The Cure. For the first time, French audiences will get to experience this album live at a major festival on August 30th, 2026.
Adding to the excitement are persistent rumors hinting at the release of a new album in 2026. Should they prove true, the band’s appearance at Rock en Seine could double as a global launch event. Such a scenario would only reinforce the Paris festival’s singular position on the map of Europe’s major music events.
Tyler, The Creator and Nick Cave also part of the lineup
Another major announcement is the presence of the rock band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at the festival on August 28th, 2026. They had already made a strong impression at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud during the summer 2022. Another healiner has been confirmed – rapper Tyler, The Creator will perform his one and only concert in France at Rock en Seine on August 26th, 2026. Sombr, Ravyn Lenae, the Deftones, Miki, The Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, Kurt Vile, Lambrini Girls, Interpol, Turnstile and Slowdive will also be part of this exceptional lineup.
Now, one just have to wait for the full program. It is expected to be announced in the coming months. Expectations are high, especially after the 2025 edition raised the bar with a stellar production featuring Justice, Suki Waterhouse, Chappell Roan, Luvcat and Jorja Smith.
