The best looks of FKA twigs, singular singer and performer

Following the masterful Eusexua, FKA twigs is about to unveil Eusexua Afterglow next November. A sensual and conceptual extension of an already visceral universe where club music meets performance art. The British artist keeps pursuing her quest for a total language, blending sound, body, and image. Throwback to the star’s most striking recent looks.

FKA twigs, the queen of performance

Without a shadow of a doubt, FKA twigs, 37, stands as one of the most talented and spectacular artists of her generation. Six years after her extraordinary album Magdalene (2019), her magnum opus, the singer unveiled the mixtape Caprisongs in 2022, and more recently the album Eusexua, released in late January 2025. A work that encapsulates her sonic grammar into a vibrant material. An electronic body driven by her voice, used as an instrument of friction and texture.

Here, club music represent far more than a mere backdrop. It establishes a true sense of dramaturgy. Keeping that in mind, the British performer manages to reconcile trance and precision, the sweat of techno and the rigour of studio work. A tense aesthetic that is sensual and viscerally inhabited all at once. Surprisingly, the artist is not getting the recognition she deserves… She got only nominated once at the Grammy awards.

Eusexua Afterglow, a new album by FKA twigs

In October 2023, FKA twigs revealed that 85 unreleased demos had been leaked. A shock that delayed the completion of her third studio album and allowed silence and doubt to linger. Fans of the singer were highly anticipating the see where the next step of her  journey would lead. EUSEXUA Afterglow, due out on November 14th, 2025, a project first conceived as a simple deluxe edition, will ultimately stand as a work in itself.

It will be a real sequel with its own identity and a brand-new tracklist. The first single, Perfectly, released in July, was initially intended for the extended version of EUSEXUA before being set aside.

FKA twigs’ choreography: From pole to ritual dance

Tahliah Barnett grew up with the conviction that her body could do anything. That certainty steeps in her stage performances, often infused with choreography bordering on ritual, right up to pole dancing, which she elevated to an expressive art form during the Magdalene tour.

In her work, techno, house, garage, and drum’n’bass collide with surgical precision and never betray the melodic line. Especially since her writing oscillates between sensual psalm and sharp-edged aphorism. It bears the imprint of a British legacy, from 2-step to trip-hop, reworked through a performative lens. Recently, FKA twigs appeared alongside French producer OKlou on Viscus (2025), a track created as a starter before the main course promised by EUSEXUA Afterglow

The British artist’s wonderful wardrobe

FKA twigs nurtures an intuitive, conceptual dialogue with fashion. Moving through fashion houses without ever blending in, she would rather subvert the codes than embody them. From Vivienne Westwood to Alexander McQueen, Valentino and Rick Owens, she has always transformed each of her appearances into a ritual, a manifesto, where clothing becomes an extension of the body.

According to her, fashion is less about representation than it is about metamorphosis. FKA twigs replays, reinvents, inhabit each outfit. Her collaborations with houses like Mugler, Burberry, and Schiaparelli reflect their mutual fascination between haute couture and the avant-garde.
