  • What can we expect from the 2026 Grammy Awards?

It is set to be one of next year’s biggest (musical) events. The highly-anticipated Grammy Awards ceremony, the Oscars of music, will be held on February 1st, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. And the list of nominees includes plenty of expected names… As well as a few surprises.

Among the contenders, we find the duo formed by South Korean singer Rosé and Bruno Mars, nominated for their hit APT. Billie Eilish also earns a spot with her track Wildflower. Justin Bieber makes a major comeback with the album Swag, after a four-year absence. And the soundtrack from Netflix’s animated feature K-pop Demon Hunters – a true global phenomenon this past summer – has racked up three nominations, including one for its standout track Golden (2025).

Kendrick Lamar and Sabrina Carpenter among the frontrunners

This year, the top contenders earning the most nominations are Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga, and Bad Bunny. The latter, soon to headline the Super Bowl, is nominated for “Album of the Year” with Debí Tirar Más Fotos (2025) and “Record of the Year” for the track DtMF (2025). SZA, Turnstile, and Tyler, the Creator also appear among the nominees.

On the other hand, The Weeknd and Playboy Carti were notably snubbed. And Taylor Swift won’t be eligible for new awards until 2027, since her twelfth album, The Life of a Showgirl, was released too late to qualify for the 2026 ceremony. The same goes for Spanish singer Rosalía, whose fourth album Lux has just been released.
