The 26-year-old American actress Hunter Schafer will be everywhere in 2026. In addition to her role in season 3 of Euphoria, she will star in a new A24 horror thriller, the period drama Cry to Heaven directed by Tom Ford, and the science fiction series Blade Runner 2099…

Hunter Schafer and Emma Corrin to star in the upcoming A24 film
In 2019, the first season of Euphoria brought a stunning young woman with angular features into the spotlight. It marked the acting debut of a truly captivating performer. Born in New Jersey in the early 2000s and raised in North Carolina, American actress Hunter Schafer immediately took center stage thanks as a magnetic presence. Before her breakout role, she had made a name for herself as an international fashion model.
Cry to Heaven, Tom Ford’s new film
However, Hunter Schafer’s future isn’t limited to contemporary horror. The actress soon to star in Euphoria season 3 (2026) is about about to enter the baroque, queer universe of Tom Ford (Nocturnal Animals) with Cry to Heaven (2026), an ambitious adaptation of Anne Rice’s 18th-century opera novel. Currently in pre-production, the film boasts an incredible cast. It includes singer Adele in her first major role, as well as Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, George MacKay, Colin Firth, and Paul Bettany. Set in the world of 18th-century Italian castrati, the plot follows Guido, a young Calabrian boy castrated to preserve his soprano voice, and Tonio, a Venetian aristocrat who becomes his mentor.
For Hunter Schafer, Cry to Heaven offers a true metamorphosis and a move away from the dark realms of thrillers and into the soft light of a period drama. A career shift that signals a transition toward a more lyrical, yet equally transgressive form of cinema.
The new Blade Runner and a video game
She will also lend her face to the horror video game OD, created by legendary game designer Hideo Kojima and filmmaker Jordan Peele. Developed with the Xbox cloud technology, the project already features a high-profile cast with Sophia Lillis and Udo Kier, and promises a fear-driven, interactive experience centered on the performances of the actors.
At the same time, Schafer is set to appear in the sci-fi series Blade Runner 2099, slated for release in 2026 on Amazon Prime Video, alongside Michelle Yeoh and under the guidance of original producer Ridley Scott. Loosely based on the universe of Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1966), the series is expected to be set fifty years after Denis Villeneuve’s film Blade Runner 2049 (2017), and nearly eighty years after Ridley Scott’s original, set in 2019.
Finally, Hunter Schafer will also star in Mother Mary along with Anne Hathaway. The feature explores the relationship between a musician and a fashion designer. But also in the horror thriller Palette with Noomi Rapace, and in Fish with Tim Roth.
