Couture: What to expect from the film about fashion with Angelina Jolie?
After winning over critics with the feature film Paris Memories, Alice Winocour is taking on the world of fashion with Stitches, a story set during Fashion Week. Scheduled for release on October 15th, 2025, the plot unveils the intertwined fates of three women starring Angelina Jolie in the lead role. The first images have just been unveiled and the film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next September.

Couture, Alice Winocour’s film with Angelina Jolie to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival
A few years after the release of the drama Paris Memories (2022), centred on an attack in a brasserie and carried by the brilliant Virginie Efira, French director Alice Winocour’s upcoming feature is taking shape… And it has now been confirmed that it will premiere at the 2025 edition of the Toronto International Film Festival next September.
According to early details revealed by the media Deadline, the plot will take place in the universe of Parisian haute couture. Couture (2025) will probably tell the story of three women, whose lives intersect during the Fashion Week.
One of them, a filmmaker, will be played by American star Angelina Jolie. The film’s production marks another chapter in the actress’s relationship with the French capital. She recently portrayed Maria Callas in the biopic Maria (2024), shot in Paris and widely acclaimed at the Venice Film Festival.

The director of Maryland (2015) has a knack for surrounding herself with exceptional actresses, from Eva Green in Proxima (2019) to Virginie Efira. Alice Winocour’s decision to work with an American star follows a current trend. Coralie Fargeat cast Demi Moore in The Substance, and Mélanie Laurent will direct The Mother with Michelle Yeoh.
Alongside Angelina Jolie, the cast will include Louis Garrel, Ella Rumpf, Garance Marillier (Raw, Titane). But also Anyier Anei and Finnegan Oldfield. Just like some of Alice Winocour’s previous projects – Proxima (2019) – the film will be shot both in French and English.
