Jamie Foxx as a superhero in “Project Power” on Netflix
The new film by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (the directors behind “Nerve”, “Paranormal Activity 3” and “Paranormal Activity 4”), “Project Power”, stars Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Lewitt in the hunt for a drug that gives its users super powers for 5 minutes. Available on Netflix from August 14th.
Following the success of Nerve (2016), the directing duo Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman are back with a new thriller. This time, the film-makers take on the world of superheroes with Joseph Gordon-Lewitt playing a cop and Jamie Foxx an ex-soldier, who join forces to fight against crime on the streets of New Orleans, where rumours of a mysterious new drug are circulating. This drug gives its takers super powers, but the problem is you don’t know which one you’re going to get: while some develop super strength or resist bullets, others can also die. Together, they decide to take the pill themselves in order to track down and arrest those making it.
Revealed in a trailer, the first images of the film herald a blockbuster slash action thriller spectacle with sensational special effects. Alongside Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Lewitt, we find Dominique Fishback (The Deuce) as the drug dealer and American actor and rapper Machine Gun Kelly – who already worked with the directing duo on Nerve.
