Season 5 of Emily in Paris will take place in Italy
In season 4 of Emily in Paris (2024), available on Netflix since October 2024, Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), the most American of Frenchies, moved to Rome following the expansion of the Grateau Agency. There, she met a handsome Italian. Another surprise from season 4? French first lady Brigitte Macron made a brief cameo.
So what’s in store for Emily in Paris season 5? A trailer and several first images have just been released to tease the upcoming release of the new season on Netflix on December 18th, 2025. The heroine will spend much of her time in Rome, and it seems she may also make a detour to Venice…
The storyline? “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Who will star in season 5 of Emily in Paris?
Rumours had it that Lucas Bravo would not reprise the role of the charming chef Gabriel, after the comments he made during the promotion of Mélanie Laurent’s film Libre (2024) on Prime Video. Indeed, the actor expressed his desire to see his character growing more complex and move away from his indulgent side. A statement that left many fans wondering whether he would return for the new season…
Lucas Bravo will be back
Eventually, the actor will be in season 5. Gabriel will reunite with his co-stars, including Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Lucien Laviscount and Ashley Park. An irresistible cast that has been part of one of Netflix’s most-watched shows since 2020. However, actress Camille Razat has decided to leave the series in order to focus on her film career.
Additional surprises from the new episodes? French actress Michèle Laroque is joining the cast of season 5 to play an old friend of Sylvie Grateau. Actor Bryan Greenberg (One Tree Hill, Suits LA) and Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) are rounding out the list of new talents embarking on Emily’s new adventures.
