2023 sexiest music videos, from Shay to Troye Sivan

Twerking lessons, lingerie pajama parties, sapphic orgies… From R’n’B to pop music, this year’s videos display a boundless erotic imagery. Here is an overview of the hottest music videos on the charts, from Nicki Minaj and Shakira to Miley Cyrus and Shay.

1. The hedonistic and orgiastic Lipstick Lover by Janelle Monáe’s

Five years after the stunning album Dirty Computer, Prince protégé and American actress Janelle Monáe, 37, is back with a new record. Entitled The Age of Pleasure, this fourth studio album is hedonistic and sensual, and features danceable R’n’B ballads, Afro-futuristic and amapiano sounds, as well as the sapphic, orgiastic and sweaty video Lipstick Lover. The icing on the cake is that the singer, who appears barely dressed to promote her new album, has invited the iconic Grace Jones, as well as rappers and singers Amaarae and Doechii to sing on some of the tracks. 2. The suave video of Jaded by Miley Cyrus

Since the release of her latest album, Endless summer vacation, on March 10th, 2023, Miley Cyrus seems to be keeping a low profile rather than promoting her new project. Nevertheless, some of the songs on her new album are already breaking records. In early May, her great single Flowers became the first track ever to reach 1 billion plays in only 16 weeks on Spotify. Keeping that hit in mind, the American singer and songwriter then unveiled the magnificent video of Jaded. It shows the singer, looking sexier than ever, in a villa in Los Angeles – the city that inspired her latest album. “We went to Hell, but we never came back / I’m sorry that you’re jaded,” Miley Cyrus sings in a powerful, confident voice. This therapeutic track directly draws its inspiration from her past relationship with her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth and once again addresses the difficulties any couple can have. (EC)

3. Shay’s hot trip to Jamaica for Jolie Go

After DA (2022), a hard-hitting, aggressive rap track illustrated by a video worthy of a sci-fi movie, Shay changed course. In March 2023, the 30-year-old Belgian rapper shared a new, sensual, Caribbean, swaying R’n’B song entitled Jolie Go – as a direct reference to the title of her first album, Jolie Garce – which gives a foretaste of her upcoming album, coming out soon. To make it even more of a summer hit, the track has been released with a sunny, sexy video shot in Kingston, Jamaica. Among coconut juice tasting, no-holds-barred dance sessions with her girlfriends, open-top car rides, motorbike rodeos, and midnight dips, Shay’s sublime, powerful aesthetic is reminiscent of Rihanna’s video for Man Down (2011), also shot in Bob Marley’s homeland. Yet without the violence… (VS)

4. Kali Uchis’ sensual, nocturnal hip sways in Moonlight

Soul pin-up Kali Uchis has released her third studio album Red Moon in Venus this year, and it is full of bangers. The Colombian American star still navigates her disarming and sweet R’n’B journey with fiery love laments. For this English-speaking opus – her 2020 album Sin miedo (del amor y otros demonios) was entirely in Spanish – she appears with a golden cast including young Mexican American singer Omar Apollo (Worth the Wait), rapper Don Toliver (Fantasy) and the irresistible Summer Walker (Deserve Me). Kali Uchis has immediately been awarded a score of 8.2/10 by the iconic magazine Pitchfork, which described Red Moon in Venus as “a fantastical record, illustrating lush, lovesick vignettes and high-femme escapism without relinquishing control.” The video for her track Moonlight illustrates that atmosphere with a hot pajama party including Kali Uchis and her girlfriends, followed by caliente hips moves in the moonlight. 5. Shakira and Karol G as sexy partners in crime in the video of TQG

No one can forget Shakira’s incredibly sexy featuring with Rihanna, Can’t remember to forget, you released in 2014. This year, the Colombian-born star’s eyes are on Karol G and their collaboration for the highly sensual track TQG, which will be the next summer hit. While the song brings the listener into a wild evening with its haunting Latin rhythms, the video is even hotter. The two singers appear wearing bodycon and revealing dresses, while dancing together and delivering some intense twerking. Far from being obscene, this video is already one of the sexiest of 2023, cumulating over 600 million views in only three months. (EC)

6. Princess of the night Tyla shines in the video of Been Thinking

She is the revelation of 2023. Following in the swaying footsteps of Rihanna and Aaliyah, Tyla seems to have nothing to envy the greatest performers, as the infectiously energetic video for Been Thinking demonstrates. Among meticulous dance moves, ravishing hip sways and highly sensual dresses, the South African singer shines with both her sculptural beauty and her luminous pop music, which mixes R’n’B and amapiano influences. Simply coined as the “Princess of Amapiano” by the influential magazine Pitchfork, Tyla flawlessly translates the vitality of her home country with a resolutely sexy touch. Besides, her hit Water is opening more and more doors for her. (VS and EC)

7. Ice Spice & Nicki Minaj’s Barbiecore twerking lesson

2023 marks Nicki Minaj’s comeback. Cited by Doja Cat in her new song, the doll-like rapper has released two successful duets – one with Kim Petras and another one with Ice Spice, entitled Princess Diana, along with an incendiary video in which they enact a pajama party and some professional twerking in a Barbie-inspired setting. The artist also contributed to the soundtrack of the film Barbie, released on July 21st, 2023. To illustrate the very pink images of the blockbuster, she covers and revamps the hit Barbie Girl (1997) by the Scandinavian group Aqua, once again featuring Ice Spice. An opportunity for Nicki Minaj to reclaim her crown as the queen of rap, with her unmatched aesthetic and flow. (VS)

8. Troye Sivan’s ultra queer video

After starring alongside Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) and Lily-Rose Depp in the controversial series The Idol, Troye Sivan released his new record Something to Give Each Other. As the icon of a generation in tune with its sexuality, the Australian singer-songwriter is constantly dropping resolutely queer videos, such as Rush, a sensational track inspired by the poppers brand of the same name. He has recently unveiled the video for One Of Your Girls, in which he dares to transform himself into a drag queen. Some bums here, some oiled torso there… We can be sure of one thing – men aren’t afraid to show off almost naked.

9. Nathy Peluso’s wild video

Since the release of her excellent debut album Calambre in 2020, Nathy Peluso has kept a low profile, releasing a few tracks here and there. But recently, the Argentinian-born singer with the look of a protagonist from a Pedro Almodóvar film has made an explosive comeback. After releasing a single entitled Tonta, she is now sharing Salvaje. “With Salvaje, I want to express freedom, wildness and loads of dance as essential elements of life,” the artist declares. Along with the music video in which the singer displays a series of ultra-sexy looks, this highly provocative track gives us hope for a hot new album. (EC)

10. Lenny Kravitz stark naked in the video for TK421

The charismatic and prodigious songwriter Lenny Kravitz has apparently made a deal with the devil. While some are preparing their retirement, he is making a great comeback at the age of 59, looking more youthful and electrifying than ever. This week, the musician has unveiled his new funk-rock track, the hedonistic and energetic TK421, along with an ultra-hot video. The video shows the artist, who has sold 40 million albums, dancing stark naked in his luxurious private mansion in Paris. Without taking himself too seriously, the music icon oscillates between sensual poses and fun, relaxed swaying. A great foretaste of the upcoming album by Zoë Kravitz’s father, Blue Electric Light, due on March 15th, 2024. (VS)

11. Anitta’s incendiary twerk

Muscular, oiled torsos, spine-tingling twerking sessions, explicit sexual scenes… the video of Anitta’s track Funk Rave is among the sexiest ones of 2023. The Brazilian singer and dancer is hotter than her, dancing to her aggressive yet highly addictive Latin beat. With her song made for the dancefloor, Anitta wants to prove that she is both very Brazilian and international. “Brazilian funk is my roots. It’s what I was born and raised doing. It’s home to me,” the artist shared in a press release. (EC)
