Entitled1, the platform breaking the codes of the art market

Far from the imposing, often strict, auction houses or major cultural magazines, Entitled1 is establishing itself as a new hybrid platform, at the crossroads of media and art forms, where artists and creatives can freely express themselves, while laying the foundations for a unique community of collectors and enthusiasts.

Entitled1, a platform at the crossroads of media and art forms

Somewhere between avant-garde magazine and market incubator, the new platform Entitled1 stands out as a hybrid, unique initiative. In sync with contemporary evolutions and mindsets, it offers a space where editorial content no longer merely narrates, but activates culture. Art, fashion, music and sport engage in a dialogue without hierarchy. An openly curated framework with a strong taste for emerging marginal figures.

Sam O’Shaughnessy, a leading figure in luxury publishing, who claims independence as an aesthetic driving force, is at the origin of the project. His ambition? To produce original content while offering artists a genuine economy. In other words, he tries to reconcile critical perspective with commercial circulation. “We will carefully select artists and broader cultural talents we truly believe in. We then work closely with them over a longer period of time to tell their story and create an authentic dialogue that resonates with the appropriate target audience. Over time, it became the Entitled1 community,” Sam O’Shaughnessy told Numéro.

Exclusive artworks and independent editorial content

The platform is not a mere witness of multiple contemporary scenes. It builds trajectories for those who shape them, through direct, exclusive collaboration with artists. The aim is to create a targeted community of collectors within a space that is at once intimate and unprecedented.

February 25th is the first step. Entitled1 will launch an online sales space bringing together the worlds of Naleye, Jake Hall and the collective God’s MGMT. Artworks have been selected for their ability to translate today’s cultural tensions, such as fragmented identities, contemporary spiritualities and digital aesthetics, rather than for any purely decorative or commercial value.

Fabien Montique, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Nastassia Winge Tan supported the launch

In Paris, filmmaker and photographer Fabien Montique, a former collaborator of Virgil Abloh, is orchestrating a video series featuring fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac for Entitled1. The latter is currently the topic of a retrospective at Les Abattoirs in Toulouse. In this short film, international creatives tell about their journey, while wearing the designer’s archival pieces in the intimacy of the photographer’s apartment.

Last but not least, the platform will also unveil LION by Nastassia Winge Tan. This choreographic meditation on assimilation and cultural memory was inspired by the Chinese New Year. Here, editorial meets cinema in order to spark a conversation rather than saturate our minds with images.

Selecting the first three artists highlighted has been a long process,” Sam O’Shaughnessy explains. “A team of experts from the art world, supported by a broad network of pioneers from across the cultural industries, collaborated to choose the artists we will work with. This approach […] is based on open and democratic dialogue rather than on one single opinion, in order to encourage a broader and more collaborative selection of emerging artists. […] The artists will benefit from support and promotion at the time of the brand’s launch. We will then accompany, advise and support them in the long term, while they develop their art. New artists will join the platform each quarter of the year.”

More than a media outlet, Entitled1 thus offers a new model. Culture is conceived as an ecosystem, where visibility, narrative and economy move forward together, along with the artists and contributors of this independent, informative platform.
