Which wild project brings together Charli xcx, Kylie Jenner and Arielle Dombasle?
Charli xcx will star as the lead character in The Moment, a film “based on her idea”. Scheduled for release in January 2026 and directed by Aidan Zamiri, this project will feature the singer behind the album Brat, alongside Kylie Jenner, Rosanna Arquette, Alexander Skarsgård, Rachel Sennott and Arielle Dombasle.

After making a splash with her 2024 album Brat, Charli xcx has become the ultimate it girl. After conquering the music industry – the singer is also set to drop a new record, alongside the release of the film Wuthering Heights in February 2026 – she is expanding her wild, provocative universe into cinema. She will appear in Gregg Araki’s upcoming film I Want Your Sex with Olivia Wilde, in Erupcja by Pete Ohs (premiered at TIFF), and in 100 Nights of Hero by Julia Jackman, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and will close the London Film Festival next week.
But there is one feature in particular that has people talking… The Moment, directed by Aidan Zamiri and co-written by Bertie Brands. This marks Charli xcx‘s first film production with her company Studio365, in collaboration with A24.
Trigger warning for epileptics, the pop star unveiled the teaser for this feature film “based on her idea” on Instagram. She appeared play the main character, a pop star preparing for a tour. The soundtrack promises a chaotic and wild new project.
British producer A. G. Cook will compose the soundtrack and is also credited in the cast. As for the rest of the lineup? It’s both completely unexpected and wildly exciting, bringing together Kylie Jenner, Rosanna Arquette, Alexander Skarsgård, Rachel Sennott, Mel Ottenberg, Shygirl, and none other than Arielle Dombasle.
Aidan Zamiri, a filmmaker to watch closely
This won’t be the singer’s first collaboration with Aidan Zamiri. He directed the video for her 2024 hit 360, a gem that earned him the Video of the Year and Best Pop Video awards at the 2024 UK Music Video Awards.
The British photographer and director is behind a wide array of striking visual worlds. He has worked with Billie Eilish on the Birds of a Feather video (2024), as well as with FKA twigs (Jealousy, Meta Angel, Ride the Dragon), Shygirl, Yung Lean, PinkPantheress, Sega Bodega, and Caroline Polachek.
The Moment will be his first feature film. Time will tell whether or not he will avoid the disaster of The Idol by Sam Levinson and The Weeknd, which addressed a similar topic but with a regrettably trashy approach…
The Moment by Aidan Zamiri will come out in the United States on January 30th, 2026.
