What should we remember from the Louis Vuitton show?

For its Fall-Winter 2025-2026 show, Louis Vuitton continues to explore its history. Under the sharp eye of Nicolas Ghesquière, the codes and heritage of the house are reinvented… and take him, this season, to the platforms of a train station in Paris.

The train station, at the origin of the Louis Vuitton show (and history)

When Louis Vuitton opened its workshop in 1854, its shelves were filled with the first prototypes of its Malle Courrier. Accompanying the rise of new public transport such as the train, this flat suitcase revolutionized the lifestyle of the time and shaped, on the platforms of train stations, the future success of the now emblematic French fashion house.

A rich and prosperous history, which Nicolas Ghesquière looks back on through his autumn-winter 2025-2026 collection. After covering the catwalk of his previous show with the leather of his Malles Courrier, the designer explores this idea in a more poetic way this season. He then extended the theme to that of travel, and gathered his guests in the former 19th century Étoile du Nord station. Today preserved and kept secret, but which exceptionally came alive this Monday evening for Louis Vuitton…

Accessories and patterns of the Fall-Winter 2025-2026 collection

Within the silhouettes of this Louis Vuitton Fall-Winter 2025-2026 show, details in reference to the world of travel and the train station proliferate. Of course, there is a leather bag in the shape of a small lamppost (carried by hand by railway security officers in the 19th century, then perched on poles to light the platforms).

But other bags, just as literal, are also reminiscent of rolled up plaids or ready-to-install camp beds – like the emblematic trunk bed of the explorer Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza designed by the house at the beginning of the 20th century.

Floral patterns invade blouses, dresses and leggings, blowing a breath of fresh air on the collection. They distil a certain impatience about the arrival of spring, and the future weekends taking refuge in the countryside… In addition to trench coats and jumpsuits that are very practical for travelling, the focus this season seems to be on accessories.

For example, we note the elegant caps, which echo those of train drivers and station controllers. But also, and more particularly, the bags. From the Keepall to the introduction of the all-new Express to the large hand-held luggage… All of Louis Vuitton’s leather goods know-how – and its very special history – is highlighted here.
