Moby is back with a new dark and political track
Deux ans après son dernier album Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt, le chanteur et musicien new-yorkais Moby est de retour avec un titre exalté "Power is taken”, dont il dévoile aujourd’hui le clip.

"We who hate oppression/ Must fight against the oppressors/ Power is not shared/ Power is taken" (“Nous qui détestons l’oppression/ Devons nous battre contre les oppresseurs/ On ne partage pas le pouvoir/ On s’empare du pouvoir”) : une fois de plus, Moby frappe fort avec un nouveau single électro sombre, dénonçant la prise de pouvoir par les tyrans. Après s’être notamment engagé dans la campagne anti-Bush de 2004 et affirmé son dégoût face aux candidats de l’élection présidentielle américain de 2016, l’artiste new-yorkais réaffirme ses positions politiques et engagements personnels dans ce morceau réalisé avec la voix de D.H. Peligro, musicien américain batteur du groupe Dead Kennedys. Dans le clip figurent des images d’archives de manifestations et des animations morbides, filmé dans un noir et blanc teinté de rouge qui laisse apercevoir pêle-mêle des monstres, des têtes de mort et ce qui semble être une caricature de Donald Trump.
En parallèle de ce nouveau single, Moby a notamment annoncé qu’il sortira un nouvel album, All visible Objects, le 6 mars prochain. Si l’ensemble de ces futurs morceaux adoptent la même couleur que "Power is taken", l’album promet d’être plus électrique que jamais, faisant écho aux problématiques sociétales et environnementales actuelles.

After notably taking part in the 2004 anti-Bush campaign and expressing his disgust at the candidates for the 2016 American presidential election, the New York artist reaffirms his political position and personal commitment in this track featuring the voice of DH Peligro, an American drummer from the group Dead Kennedys. The video includes archival footage of protests cut with morbid animation, filmed in black and white tinged with red revealing glimpses of monsters, skulls and what appears to be a caricature of Donald Trump.
In parallel to this new single, Moby has also announced his plans to release a new album, All Visible Objects, on March 6th. If together these upcoming tracks adopt the same vibe as “Power is Taken”, the album promises to be more electric than ever, echoing current societal and environmental issues.
