Grande favorite de cette compétition, Queen B est finalement repartie avec deux récompenses -Meilleur album urbain contemporain et Meilleure vidéo musicale-, après avoir interprété avec toute l'émotion qu'on lui connaît deux titres de son dernier album “Lemonade”, “Sandcastles” et “Lovedrought”.

Chance the Rapper : Grammy de la Révélation de l'année et Meilleur album de rap

Le charismatique Chance the Rapper s'est vu remettre le Grammy de la Révélation de l'année et celui du Meilleur album de rap pour “Coloring Book”, preuves de son talent et de son originalité dans l'univers de la trap. L'artiste avait d'ailleurs juste avant la cérémonie, dévoilé un clip aussi novateur qu'enfantin pour son titre “Same Drugs”.

Solange Knowles : Meilleure performance R&B 

La petite soeur de Beyoncé n'est définitivement plus dans l'ombre de sa soeur aînée et remporte pour la première fois de sa carrière le prix de Meilleure performance R&B pour son titre sensuel “Cranes in the sky”. À la fois visuel et poétique, ce clip a permis à Solange Knowles d'affirmer son univers féministe et revendicateur. 

David Bowie : Meilleure Performance Rock, Meilleure chanson rock, Meilleur Album Alternatif, Meilleur coffret d’enregistrements et Meilleure conception technique d'album

Succès posthume pour le légendaire David Bowie décédé en janvier 2016, qui remporte comme Adèle cinq Grammys pour son disque testament «Blackstar» : Meilleure Performance Rock, Meilleure chanson rock, Meilleur Album Alternatif, Meilleur coffret d’enregistrements et Meilleure conception technique d'album.

The charismatic Chance the Rapper received Grammy awards for Best New Artist and Best Rap Album for “Coloring Book”, serious affirmation of his talent and originality in the world of trap. Just before the ceremony the artist unveiled a new video that’s as innovative as it is fun for his track “Same Drugs”.

Beyoncé’s little sister is well and truly out of her big sister’s shadow for the first time in her career as she won Best R&B Performance for her sensual “Cranes in the sky” track. Both highly visual and poetic, the video gave Solange Knowles the chance to assert her feminist and claimant world.
