Il y a trente ans, la Fondation Cartier rendait un “Hommage à Ferrari”, aujourd’hui elle élargit son champ avec l’exposition “Autophoto”. Retour sur deux siècles de l’automobile avec les plus grands photographes comme Juergen Teller, Jacques Henri Lartigue, William Eggleston, Peter Lippman…

La rétrospective “Autophoto” réunie le travail artistique d'une centaine de photographes autour des facettes esthétiques, sociales et industrielles de l’automobile. À travers 450 clichés d’anthologie, cette embardée nostalgique retrace, du début du XXe siècle à nos jours, les œuvres marquantes liées à ce domaine. Juergen Teller, William Eggleston, Robert Doisneau, Brassaï et bien d’autres embraillent et nous entraînent à la découverte ou redécouverte de ces clichés mythiques.

The “Autophoto” retrospective brings together the artistic work of some 100 photographers around the aesthetic, social and industrial facets of the automobile. With 450 classic shots, this nostalgic lurch, from the beginning of the 20th century through to the present day, features some of the most stunning works in the domain. Juergen Teller, William Eggleston, Robert Doisneau, Brassaï and others lead us to the discovery or rediscovery of these legendary clichés.
